History
Founded on integrity and professionalism
Dizengoff is one of only a few Nigerian companies to have celebrated over half a century in business. Founded in 1958 on the principles of integrity and professionalism, the company has developed into a vibrant and innovative subsidiary of Balton CP Ltd.
Diversification and development
Now a major holding company with interests in Communications, Electro-mechanics, Agriculture, and Public Health, Dizengoff started off as supplier to African agriculture. Backed by the technical excellence available through its British and Israeli parent companies, Dizengoff used sound judgement and an eye for opportunity to identify high growth market sectors for successful diversification.
A key growth area has been information technology and telecommunications. Practically non-existent back in 1958, these sectors were initially slow to develop in Nigeria, but Dizengoff was always at the core of their evolution. The provider of telecommunication services to major companies in Nigeria such as Mobil, Chevron, and Shell for four decades, the company has worked with Motorola for thirty years, and is still the official marketer of Motorola products. The Dizengoff brand of radio/wireless communications established in the early days also continues to provide good service.
Dizengoff’s reputation for supplying high quality equipment at affordable prices, and offering a customer support service that is second to none, has made it the natural choice to stimulate new growth in the telecommunications sector. Well known for its ability to provide facilities such as telecommunication exchanges, private communication networks, close circuit television systems, and command and control communications centres, the company is now poised to oversee the next stage of rapid expansion of Nigerian IT and communications systems.
